MONDAY CLASSES WITH JACK CONNELLY

Jack Connelly

2500 years ago the Buddha illuminated a path of compassion and wisdom that points to a profound possibility of liberation.

Beyond the dictates of limited views and ideas lies the reality of what is possible and who we truly are.

Join Jack on Monday evenings for talks and guided meditations exploring these teachings.

WHEN: Mondays at 7 pm (EST)

Classes begin Monday, November 4th - December 16th

These classes will be exploring the importance of intention in a spiritual life. Why are we practicing, what are we hoping to achieve ? What is it that prevents us from keeping it together ?

We will also look at ideas of Refuge and Bodhicitta and their meaning and value on the path.

In these classes we will also explore the Four Nobles and the Eightfold path, underlying principles on which the teaching is based.

You are welcome to join Jack on Monday evenings to explore what's possible.

DANA (Donation):
There are no set fees in accordance with Buddhist tradition so that the teachings are available to everyone.

Video Recorded Teachings

Lama Lodro Portrait - Jan 2020.jpg

We have the pleasure to announce that Lama Lodro - who has been unable to travel to the Dharma Centre last summer due to the COVID 19 pandemic – has offered video recorded teachings on subjects he would have taught here in June and July 2020.

Lama Lodro has generously requested that all funds donated for his teachings will go the Dharma Centre of Canada’s operating expenses to support the continuation of its activities.

What is Dana? Teachers give the teachings of awakening (Dharma) freely so that anyone, no matter their financial means can attend classes. Each time one receives teachings, it is an opportunity to consciously practice generosity. Giving money and other means of support expresses gratitude and support to the teacher and helps to ensure that these teachings continue. Each person receiving Dharma teachings determines the kind and amount of Dāna according to one’s heart and one’s financial means. When deciding how much to offer, one should think about what these teachings mean to you and try to give accordingly. It is recommended that students make an offering of dāna at the beginning of a class or retreat to establish the intention to make the most of this opportunity for one’s own progression and for the benefit of all others.

Using Zoom for Video Conference Classes: If you are joining a video conference class via Zoom we recommend that you sign into the meeting a few minutes prior to starting time. During the talk, you may be asked to switch off your audio and/or video in order to optimise sound and picture quality for all participants. Please sign up with Zoom (at no cost) and familiarise yourself with the set up prior to joining a meeting by visiting: https://www.zoom.us/.
